Bowen Bodywork
& Bowsage
Information
Julie learned Bowen bodywork & Bowsage (Bowen & Massage Combo) through Michelle Lally, LMBT of BowsageTherapy.com in June, 2025. Information given below is gleaned from this learning experience as well as listed websites. This is the beginning of our Bowen Therapy journey together, and you can look forward to advanced techniques in the future, as they become available.

Bowen bodywork is performed with the client (you) fully clothed. It is not massage therapy, but rather a non-invasive, light-touch bodywork session. This type of bodywork is a series of gentle segmented movements that glide over muscles to elicit a quiet reflex response (much like strumming the strings of a guitar). Between each segment of movements there is a quiet 90 second pause to allow the body and nervous system to process, rebalance, and repair. When Julie strums over each area, the muscle, tendons, and fascia gently vibrate allowing the release of holding/tension patterns. This also sends a message to the nervous system to exit "fight/flight" and enter a more "release/relax" state of being.

Your Bowen session will be approximately 30-35 minutes in length, unless you choose to combine it with another modality.

Price for the 30 minute session ... $50

Many of the Bowen bodywork segmental movements are made over and along meridian pathways, designed to stimulation accupressure points (John Wilks: https://www.therapy-training.com/meridans-bowen).

Bowsage is simply a combination of massage therapy and Bowen bodywork. Bowen bodywork can also be combined with craniosacral bodywork and any of the sound therapy equipment.
